Signs She Likes You Over Text

By Marco Vance·5 min read·
Short answer

Real interest looks like sustained effort, voluntary specifics, and a willingness to lead sometimes. Below are seven signals that hold up in real threads. Two or three of them showing up consistently is your green light. One on its own is noise. None of them are about how fast she replies or which emoji she picked.

TL;DR
  • Voluntary specifics are the cleanest signal.
  • She reaches back when you go quiet. That is the integrity tell.
  • She accepts or counter-proposes your close.
  • Inside jokes mean she is building a thread with you, not with anyone.

1. She gives voluntary specifics

You ask about her week and she names the city she went to, the friend who came along, the thing that went wrong. That is interest. Generic answers ("good, you?") are not necessarily disinterest, but they are not the green light.

2. She reaches when you are slow

You went silent for a day. She writes anyway, with something small. This costs her something, which is why it is the cleanest signal in this list.

3. She uses an inside reference

The barista joke from two days ago shows up again. The nickname you gave her dog gets reused. Inside jokes are thread-specific investment, which means she is not running the same script with five other matches.

4. She accepts or counter-proposes a date

You ask Thursday at 8. She says yes, or she says "Thursday is hard, what about Saturday afternoon". Either one is a green light. "Maybe", "let me see", "I will check my schedule" without a follow-up is a soft no.

5. She protects the thread

When you go slow, she does not punish you with disproportionate silence. She picks up at the warmth you left, not at zero.

6. She moves to a second channel

Asks for your Instagram, sends a WhatsApp request, gives her number unprompted. Channel migration is investment because each new channel is a new context she is letting you into.

7. She brings something unprompted

A photo, a song, a story she thought you would like. Unsolicited content is the warmest signal in this list because it requires zero from you.

What you do with the read

If you see three or more of these consistently across the last week, ask for the date now. Waiting longer is your fear, not her timing. If you see one or none, the thread is warm-looking on the surface and dead underneath. TextWizard separates those two cases automatically.

Frequently asked

What if I see two signals but she takes 8 hours to reply?
Reply speed is the noisiest signal. If she gives specifics and reaches back when you have not written, the 8 hours is just her life. Close.
Does double-texting from her mean she likes me?
It can. If the second text adds a specific or a hook, yes. If it is 'you there', that is anxiety, not warmth.
